The Challenge
Single-phase supply capped the system at 5 kW of inverter, and the family is out all day, so most solar would have been exported for 2c.
Our Approach
We fitted the maximum 15 panels on a 5 kW inverter and a 10 kWh battery, with the pool pump moved to a midday timer.
Outcome
Their bills dropped from about $260 a month to under $60, and the battery covers the evening until about 10pm most of the year.
